In this painting the artist have shown a scene where few people and yogis are practicing some yoga asans in which we can see one saint have inserted the arrow into his nose and on the other side we can see another yogi is piercing his cheek with pointed weapon . Seeing these yogis doing such yoga two other man sitting in yoga position taking mala (chain) is their hands and experiencing the asan of yoga we can also see a saint sitting in yoga asan taking mala (chain) in his hand . Hath Yoga is not the yoga which is done forcefully.Infact Hath Yoga is a preparatory process of yoga. The word “Ha” means Sun and “ta” means moon. “Hatha” means the yoga to bring balance between the sun and the moon in you, or Pingala and Ida in you. According to legend, Lord Shiva created yoga carried forward by Gorakhnath and his desciples. Hath Yoga is also benefical for those people who are busy in their daily life. By doing it regularly one can experience better sleep, increased energy levels and muscle tone, relief from muscle pain and stiffness, improved circulation and overall better general health. Hath yoga includes 7 limbs: Shatkarma, asana, pranyama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana and samadhi.It is a stress-reducing practice. This yoga also includes some poses which are quite painful and dangerous like pearcing chiks, nose, tongue etc..all these practices should be done in the presence of guru with proper rules and regulations. Hath yoga in daily exercise program can improve fitness, strength, flexibility. Once individual learn the basics of hath yoga, certain poses can be used to help with Perticular needs, such as improving memory and concentration. Excluding four prayanams of Maharshi Patanjali each prayanama is from hath yoga. In this yoga many meditation,concentration techniques have been described. This is what Hath Yoga is all about.
