In this painting the artist is trying to show the royal look of Maharaja Ganga Singh with is sword who was a great personalty in himself. Bikaner is one of the city in Rajasthan. The earlier name of Bikaner was Jangledesh. On its north it had Kuru and Madradesh. That’s why in Mahabharata some where it’s name is mentioned alone as Jangledesh and somewhere with Kuru and Madradesh. Jangledesh included today’s Bikaner and northern part of Jodhpur. In 1485- 1488 Rao Bika established the city. It is said that the spot which Bika selected for his capital was birthright of a Nehra Jat, who would only concede it for this purpose on the condition that his name should be linked in perpetuity with its surrender. Naira or Nera , which Bika added to his own, thus composing that of the future capital, Bikaner. Even today on the day of Akshya Tritiya the people of Bikaner celebrate this day by flying kites. Bikaner also have been the land of kings and rulers. The reign of Maharaja Ganga Singh was notable for great socio-political and economic development in every sphere of life, namely education, health, sanitation, water supply, power generation and electricity, irrigation, post and telegraph, roads and railways, trade and commerce, etc. The state owes to this ruler for opening up of new railways across the great desert. Some items like Bhujiya, sweets, Gypsum, Clay etc. Of Bikaner are world famous. The second most important thing of Bikaner is that people of all religion, casts live here happily and togather. Bikaner have five gates namely, kotgate, Jassusar gate, Natthusar gate, Goga gate and Shital gate. Along with the land of golden bird India is also the land of brave people. A place in India, Rajasthan is famous for its Culture and palaces which in themselves tells the story of their rulers. Bikaner’s Lalgarh is also famous and tells the story of its rulers. It was the Palace as well as Fort of Maharaja Ganga Singh. Maharaja Ganga Singh in himself was a great personalty and his Noorani sword and the way of dressing like Knight(champion,hero), his way of standing, style of walking added swag to his personality. He had all the quality of King since he was a Prince. He had enough power in him. In this painting we have shown the Royal look of Maharaja GangaSingh which makes us to bow our head. This painting reflects the Maharaja’s Picture when he was a Prince.
